Well, my stock battery has finally reached the end of it’s life. 12 years… not bad!
Anyway, I need to find another one this weekend, and want some opinions on what to get.
I have no big sound system (just one 12 and an amp), and am not looking to spend alot of $$ (like on an Optima or somethin).
Anyone reccomend a decent battery choice?

dood sears diehard… seriously… if u just need a simple battery they work well.
Go with the Sears Diehard Gold. I can’t believe that your battery lasted 12 years!!!
Sears is good stuff, or you could try Costco as well. Both should be able to serve your needs.
personally, i’m gonna go with an optima, but since you dont wanna spend the extra cash for one of those, i’d say definately go for a Die Hard…nothing really beats them, i install them all day, good batteries, and u can go with either the weatherhandler, silver, or gold battery for our car, ranging between $60 and $80…good luck
I bought a new Optima redtop while visiting in Wisconsin for $95. Not really that much more than a top-of-the-line DieHard. I think there have been some GroupBuy’s for them also. Since I store my car for up to 6 months at a time, I’m hoping the Optima will hold a charge when NOTHING else will.
how bout a civic battery? arent those much lighter?

i bought a champion (made by optima, it says it on the handle) from discount. i’ve left my stereo on for hours with no prob. i’ve also come home drunk, no wait, i mean tired, and left my parking lights on for like 6 hours & she started right up for me. i’ll never buy a die hard again.
Optima batteries are junk. Try an SVR from West Coast Batteries. They cost more than a generic but less than Optima.
Will our car have any bad side effects if we were to put the smaller/newer battery in our cars? Like the ones that come in the newer tegs and civics?

it just won’t fit right… i have a smaller battery, it came with the car, i think it’s a civic battery. i’ve had it for 4 years already, go with INTERSTATE.
