Where have you got your tranny done? I am looking for mostly socali areas. I live in Yuma Az and So cali. I cant find a place that will do it for less than 1700$. I blew the tranny and i cant find a new one or any one that has one for sale… I have the b18a motor still with stock tranny s1 if im right… but i was just told about the conversion from the y20 tranny (94+GSR tranny Hydro). take the 91ls tranny and keep the 5th gear and the overdrive and install them on the gsr hydro tranny and it will bolt right up and work… umm how? if they fit the same cool but will it really work… what makes the cable diff. from the hydro…

This chart shows that it works better for auick off the line and longer runs in 5th and saves on gas in 5th. so any help would be cool. thanks…

I just had a new tranny put in today. I am in San Diego and i bought the tranny from a place called K. Watanabe which sells used engines and transmissions from japan. It was $420. Then i took it to a local shop and they threw it in for $200.

thanks eddie but they could not help… they only have the 1.8L auto tranny… so im still in need of a place to buy it from… i dont want to buy it from honda…

I don’t know if you’ve got an auto or manual. VTEC or Non-VTEC but these places deal with used japanese engines and trannys.

Edit: BTW, the hydro tranny you were looking at won’t work unless you’ve got a 94+ integ, or money and time to convert to hydro. Oh, the 5th gear change is adding a non-vtec B-series transmission 5th gear to replace the 5th gear of a B-series vtec transmission.
