Ok let me get something straight here. A stock 92 Integra GS/LS/RS vs stock 92 Integra except w/ B20B transplant. Which won would win in a race? I know the b20 will get the b18a/b of the line, but doesn’t it have less hp? around 125hp? Im curious because i blew my engine and if the block is cracked then i’ll need to buy a new engine; don’t know weither to stick w a b18B or go for a b20b (cr-v) transplant. Thanks!

You would definatly want to swap over to a B20. You would probably want a JDM B20B/ US B20Z, they have a higher output then the US B20B. The JDM B20B/ US B20Z would take a B18A/B off the line and keep the lead through the 1320, not sure about the US B20B though.

DISCLAIMER:
The preceeding statement was made on the DIRECT ASSUMPTION the the drivers of the two IDENTICAL integras are EXACT copies of eachother who both made PERFECT runs. The only difference was the two PERFECT CONDITION engines:stuck_out_tongue:

The crappy HP ratings only come from a lousy intake/IM (runners as long as …) and lousy exhaust/header…

Don’t forget the CR difference between the US B’s and Z’s

heh… the one with the B20…
Expect hp numbers of about 140hp and 135lbs at the wheels out of a good running B20Z or the JDM B20B.

To clear any doubts, here is a pic of my dyno sheet:

All stock with the exception of a K&N stock replacement filter in a modded (by me) stock airbox, and a test pipe.
With the old CLOGGED cat the same setup dynoed 123hp and 123lbs.
All else is stock.

If i got the U.S B20B (not the b20z) could i put gsr or 92-93 ls cams in it? what would be the hp on it? Because i know if you have a 90-91 integra ls engine, by switching to 92-93 cams you get the extra 10hp.

You can’t put VTEC cams in a non-vtec head. The cams that came in the US B20B are 94-01 LS cams, so 92-93 LS cams would make no difference. Also, i’m pretty sure that some of the 92-93’s extra HP came from a different exaust manifold, if I’m not mistaken, so cam swapping a 90-91 won’t get you a full 10HP.

If base hp on a b20b is around 125 , what is the advantage of a swap? I know you get 133lbs of torque thats good…but what about top end? Wouldn’t top end blow ass? BTW, switching the headers and intake manifolds to a b18A/B’s would help how much more?(in terms of hp and torque gains).
