Okay, I’ve seen enough. I’ve probably seen at least 20 different threads with the same topic:
“Help me pick out a system for my car.”
So why not start a thread that will have suggestions for stereosystems for our cars? It will be a cool debate forum in which the NooB’s can just read through the thread and decifer what is BEST FOR THEIR TASTE…you think it will work? I’ll start it off…
The best system FOR THE MONEY in my opinion would be:
Pioneer DEH8400 HU
Infinity 6.5 Kappa’s all around
1 JL12W6 (rms = 300watts) in a ported box
Memphis 4x100 amplifier to power speakers
JBL 300x1 amplifier to power sub
If you have any other suggestions on what you think is best, let’s hear it! Let’s get sedans involved as well!
IMO best bang for the buck system without getting too crazy…(this is my setup im going for in my rsx, half way there already!!!) would work just fine in your guys integra’s also…
JVC sh707 or 909
Infinity reference 605cs for fronts
no rears or kicker resolution 6.5 mid (undecided)
JBL bp 80.4 or 180.2 for fronts/rears
Elemental 12k sub
Jbl BP 300.1 or 180.2 for sub or even the 600.1
Home built ported enclosure.
The HU can be had for ~240 shipped off ebay, the amps for 135.0(189 for 600.1) shipped from bsless.com, ED12k sub for ~150 shipped from Edesignaudio, 605cs can be had for ~120 off ebay. Wiring kit from (4g)knukonceptz.com for 40 shipped, box about ~40 worth of materials, without running any rear speakers this setup would run around $860-900 shipped doing all install yourself.

Ahh, you have learned well young grasshopper Very nice setup you just listed. The K could easilly handle the 600.1. It is ridiculouslly under rated. The owner ran his 12k with over 800 watts and he said it took it like nothing. A few people on the car audio forums have been running them with high power and have had no problems yet. I’m going to be running my 15K ported off of 1000 watts. I’ll let ya know how it handles it and put up some numbers on here after I get it metered.

:werd: After spending double that of what i listed on the system that was in my teg, i dont think i would ever go back to buying from stereo shops unless i get huge discounts. 1000w ported on a 15? crazy!!! I had 500w to 15 xpl (sealed)in my teg and that was enuff to blurr my vision during driving…
Very happy to see you got a nice system for cheap. Did I influence your choices in any way? If I did, I’m so stoked.
What I’m going for is a pretty mild setup and will still have great SQ (I hope). Hopefully it will be a lot more than blurring of my vision. Maybe it will make me puke !!!
At one point, I had about 2400 watts rms on a 15" ported. So 1000 isn’t too crazy.
