Which type of NGK spark plugs are goodfor use with out cars?
Depends on how you intend to drive your car? Racing? Everyday normal conditions?
If it’s just basic driving, then regular stock NGK plugs will do fine.
Non-VTEC B18s require a minimum of Copper NGKs with a level 6 heat range. While VTEC Tegs (B17) require Platinum NGKs with a level 7 heat range (colder plug). At least, that’s what the Haynes manual says provided the car is driven normally in normal conditions.

There are several different NGK plugs…so does that mean the standard plug is good to use on the 1.8L?
I GOT a set of iridiums and it felt alot better than what i had. i also got a set of Nogaps that worked just as good as the iridiums. they cannot be bought here let me know if you are intrested in them. they only have about 3000 miles on them.

Well, there are only a few types of NGK available for the B18. Standard Copper, G-power platinum, & Iridium (need someone to confirm). NGKs have the V-groove copper plug, but I don’t think they make any for the B18. When you go to the auto store (pepboys, crappy tire, etc.), they normally have a reference book that will tell you which NGK, Champion, Bosch, etc. plug that can fit in your car.

They don’t sell NGK at Autozone or PepBoys… I had to go to Napa to buy them. . I don’t know if the were copper, but they were the V-groove tip kinds…
The owner’s manual lists these as the recommended plugs:
(non-Vtec models)
For NORMAL driving: NGK plugs # ZFR5F-11
For HOT climates or CONTINUOUS high speed driving: NGK # ZFR6F-11
For GSR models: NGK # PFR6G-11
BTW, how do those NO-GAP NGK plugs work? Does it make a bigger, better spark? I thought about buying those, but wasn’t too sure…
hey guys, over here were I live, they know f**K all about spark plugs. So if I walk in and ask for NGK # ZFR6F-11 plugs… should that be sufficient or is there a size or something further more that I have to mention?? I have to check the number on the spark plugs cause all they do is just hand you them!!!
I drive hard most of the time and the temp. in here is always HOT!
If you get the platinum spark plugs it won’t hurt your car in any way right?
I remember a while back going to the dealer and asking for ngk platium for my LS. The guy said something about they don’t make ngk platinum spark plugs for non-vtec engines. But then again I could be mistaken, its been years since I’ve gone to the dealer to buy spark plugs.
Personally I wouldn’t buy the ngk platinum for a daily driver. those things cost like $15 each. the bosch4 works pretty good in both vtec and non-vtec I think…just my 2cents anyway.

Well, when I go get my plugs, the guy at the Auto parts Store said it would be easier if I gave them STOCK NUMBER for the plugs, instead of the actual spark plug number…
So for the NGK plugs # ZFR5F-11, the stock number is 2262 (I’ll double check that for you) … It’s the only ones I buy… sorry, I don’t know the stock numbr for the ZFR6F-11…
BTW, the stock number appears on the box which the plugs are in… and the spark plug number will be on the plugs…
You don’t consistantly race, therefore, NGKs V-Power plugs will suffice. I switched out my Bosch +4s (the 4 tip ones) and man the difference was incredible.
Friends dont let friends drive w/out NGKS.

the NoGap is not made by NGK, they are made by a compnay in asia called 360. basically their idea and moto is that the spark is not at one point but all around the spark plug ( a 360 degress of spark) therefore there will always be a spark to ignite the fuel/air. when i put these things in and swaped out the Brand new bosch +4 damn it made a huge diff. espcailly in torque you can feel it pull a bit harder. like i said i got a set for sale 30 bucks shipped ( i think thats’ what i said) i really need money bad because i gotta pay some tickets. they are used for 4000 miles but are still in great shape, guartee to work in your car no matter what you drive. i swapped in some Iridium because i heard with ignitions system you want a bigger gap and that’s why i got those. when i added these NGK iridium it made no differences.

So NGK buys their NO-GAP plugs from 360? . I never even HEARD of that company B4… are they reputable?
does anyone know the gap of the ZFR5F-11, i got a set from acura and i didnt gap them before i put them in, i was hoping they came pre-gapped but i called them this morning and they said even if they were i should still check, well i didnt:shock:
NGK is not affilated with 360 (NoGap) at all they are seperate companies. 360 is a company specialize in only spark plugs in asia that is why you have not heard them over here. there plugs were tested and approved but just not sold in the US.

do i get an answer to my ?:shy:
if you got platinum then i’ts pregapped if you did’nt then most likely it’s not. however since you got it from acura then there is higher change that it was. i think gap is like .42 .45 something in those ranges.
OK THANX, I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO TAKE THEM BACK OUT AND CHECK THEM OUT
