how much nitrous can a stock engine handle. Im planing on getting 100 shot of nitrous. Maybe 2 bottles. i want to know if the stock b18a1 handle it.
kind of sounds like fast and the furious huh…anyways…75 would probably be a max but then again you have to look what the other factors are…how often you use it…the length of time you spend with each push of the button etc…hth
I was using 75-shot for a complete season with no negative effects, just your basic wear and tear.
100-shot would be pushing it as far as reliability goes, but like “clemsonteg” said it depends if you’re responsible using it and how much/long you’re going to use it for.
Rule of thumb is usually always half of the horsepower. Integra has about 140HP so a 70-shot would be ideal.
why would you need 2 bottles, thats just extra weight/less cargo room and twice the amount you have to fill up when empty, 1 bottle is more than enough
i will tell you from experience don’t hit it with 100 shot . i ran a 65 shot for a good long while roughly about 21 bottles and i bought injectors and a fuel pump and then went to a 100 shot it lasted 1 bottle. the stock type r clutch couldn’t hold it and i guess the motor didn’t like it at all . melted a hole in the number 3 piston. depending on what mods you have i would stay with a 65 at most 75 shot
wow ok maybe i wont get nitrous. ill stick with turbo.
if you have turbo i would definitly stick with it thats why i went to turbo was tired of filling a bottle every weekend ,i am still going to use the nitrous probaly on my new set up i am waiting to get my block back from the machine shop looking at running between 28-30psi and maybe spray it with a 65 shot depending on the lag
