k here i go…
i own a junkyard that’s full of cars. i’m thinking about turbocharging a b18A. i currently have 2 turbos, a mercedes t3 turbo, (which i heard might not work), and a volvo S40 turbo. Will the volvo turbo be even possible?
reminder that i’m tryin to build a pretty quick car with the resources i have available. kinda like building a fast car junkyard war style.
The S40 is a 1.9L so it would be the closer match of the two choices.
Either way you’d need a custom manifold.

most guys pull them off of Volvos T-birds Mitsu’s and Saab’s. i got my Tb03 off of a Saab. like formz says a turbo is universal.

I would suggest an IHI turbo from a 88-91 Probe/MX-6 along with the intercooler off the same car. This unit provides 15psi efficiently on those 2.2 motors and can be pushed higher (but efficiency drops). It will provide you with fast spool up and you should be seeing full boost at 3000rpm with a proper exhaust.
On a B18 (considering stock internals) you should be flying at this boost level. I also mentioned the intercooler off the same car because it is all aluminum.
i may have a hookup on rebuilt saab turbo’s cheap i’ll find out in a day or two…
