oil burning need help?

well i just rebuilt my head and now im burning oil some where? i put new valve seals. and its burning where else would it be coming from? do u think one of my valve seals fell off?
if u could help that would be great.
thanks

oh ya i use 15w 50 oil.

15W50? Don’t you think that’s a little too thick? Anyway, It could be the valve guides which are different from valve seals…if I’m not mistaken. Another possibility could be the piston rings. Have you done a compression and leakdown test?

the reason why i use 15w50 because i race. and i did compression test and my compression is around 130-150 on each piston and i now my rings arent good.

You just answered your question then. Most likely it is your rings that’s letting the oil linger in the cylinder. FYI, OE compression should be 184psi. (9.2:1 CR). Minimum compression is 150psi., so you need your short block rebuilt.

it might be that that sings slipped off i know on my friends talon when he replaced the rings they slipped off and oil seaped threw …he had to get this piston ring tool and redo the whole process.
