I was wondering if anyone had step by step instructions on how to put the oil lines in the car? I have never done it before. How do you do it?
I will take a crack at this
-
get proper oil line kit for your turbo i.e(steathmode.com or tunertoys.com
-
jack car up and then locate ur oil filter. Now looking directly at ur oilfilter
to the left side of ur filter u will see what looks like a hershey kiss with a
wire attached to it thats the cover for ur oil pressure sending unit. Remove
cover, u will need a pair of slip jaw pliers to turn oil pressure unit out and
place unit to the side. -
from ur oil line kit grab the new fitting, fitting looks like a big sliver long
nut with two allen key screws in the middle of bolt and a threaded end
on one side that is male and the other side is female. -
apply teflon tape or liquid teflon to male part of fitting then place it where
ur oem sending unit went to the block remeber to remove one of the allen
screws from ur fitting and when u tighten the fitting make sure the fiting
with the empty allen hole is facing 12’oclock -
now u grab ur braided oil line, apply teflon tape or liquid teflon to male part
of line and place line where the hole in the fitting is at 12’oclock tighten
down. -
next is ur oem sending unit place unit in front of fitting sort of self
explanitory (sp) when u see it -
now route ur oil line to where turbo is, then install turbo oil feed fitting,
screw down other end of oil line to turbo. make sure oil line will not rubb
on anything or will get caught by one of ur belts. -
next tap oil pan for turbo drain
-
remove oil for engine, drop oil pan. for this setup u have to have ur turbo
manifold installed and ur turbo mocked up so u can place where ur oil drain
fitting will go, measure where the drain of the turbo and hose will end up
straigt with no bends to the highest part of ur oil pan -
once measured get unibit and drill, drill into pan where u want the fitting
to be. to secure fitting most people weld it on or use JB Weld. I welded
mine on. -
clean out oil pan from metal shavings then reinstall oil pan
attach drain hose from turbo to oil pan and tighten clamps
this is just one way of doin this setup there r a few variables when u take in
consideration that u might want to ad an oil pressure guage to ur car.
there r pics rolling around in this forum and a few other honda forums about this topic
