i just got one for my motor b18a…i have the ls/vtec setup and it was recomended to upgrade to either a gsr or type r oil pump…i went with the gsr pump so that my car gets enough oil and doesn’t starve!..oh ya by the way its got to be a 92-96 gsr oil pump according to the dealer these are the only ones that fit…it cost me 165.00 cdn…hope that helps.

What about the b16 oil pumps? LIke the ones out of the SIs? I thought all of the b series vtec oil pumps were the same.

but…

the newer oil pumps like the ITR and SI are OBD2 meaning they use the cylinder pos. sensor. YOu can just not use, but why pay more for it.

also, I believe that 94-95 GSR and 90-93 LS use the same oil pump according to the part numbers. That was a while back , so don’t quote me on that!

ok, well i dont really care what motor the pump comes from, as long as it puts out more than the stock one. so please be specific with which one i need to get.
also if a 90-93 ls and a 96 gsr use the same one then, apparently theres not a difference in them.
thanks

I believe they flow the same volume of oil, just the pressures vary. Use an ITR pump, and do not use the cyp sensor, or the crank timing gear from and obd2 car. use the one tha corresponds to the motor ou are building.

aight an itr it is, but what year, and what cyp>??? and some gear??? you lost me on that one. i think you were saying to change out the gear on the pump itself? is that correct, if so then do i just use the one thats already on my car.
