overheating while sitting still

ok now that thats outta the way…

well fellas my teg overheats when sitting still. whilst driving it it just around normal, however sitting still it will continue to climb and climb. i looked in the coolant res. and there seems to be chuncks of shit in there…?

i was planning on getting a new rad soon ne how (Griffin custom) however i was wondering if it really is the radiator or my lack of coolant/slime?

thanks in advacne to everyone and anyone. the teg is going back on the road within 3 weeks :slight_smile: color me excited!!!

Air causes that. Sounds like you may need a new radiator.

Check the rad, are the fins full of bugs and dirt? power wash the rad to allow better air circulation. Are your fans on? A relay might be out. Is there pressure on the top hose and the bottom? If your rad is old and rusted, then sure replace it, but quite possibly a rad flush with the replacement of the thermostat and rad fluid could fix you up. After power washing the rad, straighten out and bent fins on the rad to allow proper air flow.
