There isn’t any crews, it’s just a few members that want to meet up and check out each others cars that like to stay away from drama and ricers.
Where does anyone want to meet or cruise, throw out ideas, possibly for aug 19th or 20th, Let me know if thats ok with anyone and where anyone would like to meet, doesnt have to be on 30, pa or md…
Neil - Folks seem to be cool around here, really have never seen and big issues with other forum clubs or other car clubs for that matter. Might be a little different near some of the big cities however. What part of Maryland do you live in since your move from Florida?
I’m out near Frederick. Rarely do I see older cars on the road here. It’s so different from Florida.
York PA would be a real easy hour and half drive from Frederrick Maryland… I am about the same in the opposite direction in PA. Hope the meet comes together; it will be nice meeting you.
So never went to a meet and cruise before, where would be a good place to cruise too? Sight see? highway? Give info, meet at Old Country Buffet parking lot on Route 30 just west of I-83 in York, PA?? Shoot dates at me, is everyone ok with 8-20-11 at 12-noon??
Can meet up in Blue Ball and cruise over to Intercourse… :rimshot:
John Rudy Park is right off 30 and 83, also not as close to the city area. Ricers used to hang out at that Old Country Buffet and race on Route 30, so they probably wouldn’t want us around.
As for a date, how about the weekend of September 24-25?
Dates work for me.
I’d be down for a meet. I live in Baltimore. Are dates and times set in stone yet? I wanna make the plans to attend.
Come on Scott…You live in York! Post a time and place for this meet, and start a attending list.
What about the import alliance meet in baltimore september 18th?
I’ll try to find a spot this weekend, Sam Lewis park is a Nice spot. Near some back roads. I get tired of standing around in a parking lot like most meets. Can always cruise from one to the other.
Still definitely trying to attend this meet. Is York, PA a definite area it’ll be in?
I tried posting earlier from my phone, but it wasn’t being useful.
We had meets in the past a John Rudy Park, it’s just a few minutes from Route 30. The exit you would take is only two down from I-83. Also just barely off of Route 24.
Sam Lewis is right off the Wrightsville exit of Route 30. After you get off you just follow the same road until you almost get to the top of a massive hill. I’ve never actually seen that park very crowded either. Around the back behind the trees would be less crowded because the nice view is obstructed.
As mentioned I just get sick of all car meets being held in a parking lot. Will try to think of some other places clost to the main highways.
Good point Ominous. I too get tired of the typical parking lot meets. So where ever this takes place officially, hopefully the teg and I will be ready. Is it for certain that it’ll be in September or is it still undecided?
Usually starts cooling down around then, so should be good weather. I have to work tomorrow, so can cruise around and look for a couple spots afterwards. Will try to remember my camera, I’m not a good morning person…
In FL we used to have meets in parks. As long as the gathering spot was far away from the main congregation areas (swings, courts, etc) we were able to all park together nicely. We usually use the grills there as well. I’d much prefer a park vs a parking lot (cops may have an issue with parking lots too). I can’t guarantee I’ll attend (due to some stuff going on right now) but I’ll make every effort to.
sam lewis state park sounds like a good place to me, always real quiet and nice open place to chill… Id love to come out never been to any real honda meets, let alone anything just g2s… cept I moved from York to baltimore… but im down
Pretty sure i can make it in Sept.
