Ok this my sound dumb but how to you remove that peg-like bolt with the cotter pin that holds the cable onto the caliper? I tried beating on it and soaking it in WD-40 but no luck. Also was told that there is a rubber o-ring in there and that could be the cause of it too. Then again they said that it does not come off at all. So what is it?
There is a metal clip that needs to be removed from the bottom side of the pin first. Spray the top of the pin with wd40 or a penetrating oil. I use a large flathead screw driver on the caliper to push it out from the bottom by using leverage.
