make sure you get the gaskets for the water pump. it may be a good idea to replace some of the other gaskets if you want to:
-vtec solenoid gasket
-cam end plug
-valve cover gasket
also, if you’re taking it apart to install a new clutch you it’d be a good idea to get a lightened flywheel or have your stock one lightened… not needed but since you’re there you might as well if you’ve got some extra $$.
cap, rotor, and plugs could be a good idea as well.
91integ pretty much sumed it up. u might consider the aftermarket cam end plug. dont forget those spark plug seals(dealership always recommends if ur doing the valve cover gasket) also crank seal (front seal) might as well while u have to the motor on a stand and ur doing the timing belt.
if its gonna be a strait swap, depending on the age and wear of the motor replacing the main bearings in the block is a good use of maintenance $$ since the motor is not installed and it will be a little less labor intensive to work on it. Also IMO every seal, gasket, grommet, and the whatnot should be replaced. It just makes sense to do it now. The last thing you want to happen is to spend all this time and money no this swap and have routine maintenance bite you in the wallet later

you may also want to replace you pcv valve. And if you’re doing that you may want to replace the hose that goes from the valve down to the baffle box on the back of the block. My hose broke and i just got a replacement for it. The hose was so aged that it was solid, i thought it was made of plastic. Got the new one and realized they were rubber!!! i guess thats what 10yrs can do to rubber. I’m hoping that the new hose will also make pcv valve installation/removal easier in the future.
you’re not going to need an ecu adapter. the ecu will plug right into your car. However you will have to add some wires to your existing main harness. I don’t think anyone actually sells a harness for this though. But it shouldn’t be hard to make your own.
order your clutch for a 90-91 teg. (as long as your motor is an 89-91 b16a). If you got one of the 92-93 b16’s w/ ys1 tranny then you will need to order the clutch for 92+ tegs. but most likely you bought the cheaper 89-91 b16a and have the s1, y1, or j1 tranny.
You can buy a harness for the extra for wires(vtec solanoid, vtec pressure, o2,knock sensor) from hasport.com for abou $80. It comes with all the plugs and wire connectors for ecu you will need.
