I wasn’t the one insinuating that it was only the engine that made it a GS-R. There are so many other great features exclusive to this car. Moldings, led wing, seats with adjustable side bolsters, painted accents, etc. I personally think that if there are multiple DB2 vin plates on the car…then it’s a GS-R. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck…it’s a duck.
Don’t GSs also have the seat adjustment? If you are referring to tightening the sides that hug you, then I have that on mine
The top half isn’t GSR anymore and a lot of other bits are gone but the vin still says DB2!
Bacardi. My friend had a GS with leather and didn’t have the adjustment. But I wouldn’t doubt it if some GS’s did come with it since that is pretty much the top trim level (besides our GS-R’s hehe). Anyway I think thats one of the coolest features exclusive or not.

Damn good question. We know they stamped the blocks and VINs with unique numbers for each Country + Cali. Schu, what’s the highest Canadian VIN you’ve seen?
all cars were built in suzuka, shipped to honda of canada where the final fitting was done… manual for canada, auto for the usa. in addition, I do believe there may(I stress may) have been crash test differences.
what about production numbers? Are there 10x more DB2s in the US than Canada?
unit distribution and break downs(colors, options etc) - (Canada = Black, USA = Teal) are guarded secrets. suffice to say that there were at least 2 units per dealer… I think some nmay have traded for more as dealer to dealer trades but there WOULD NOT have been 5 sitting in a parking lot. So again, we go by the highest VIN number we can find… for me, I have seen a 3100 number. That’s it. if someone has a higher number we will take that in consideration
What’s the highest Canadian VIN you’ve seen? Seems like they started at zero for Canada and US.
The guy I bought the red one from told me the dealer had a green and black GS-R on the lot, and he ordered a red one. No idea if they did a trade or simply ordered it.

there is no VIN designation difference between usa and canada… a straight run sequentially.
I had talk to this guy months and months ago about this, there is no reason that a check system equation would not work
Hondatec, I agree I love the seat side support, although I have mine as tight as it can get and I am still too small for it

I’ve noticed that the OEM floor mats are diffrent for the Canadians.
3100 is not a lot and think Kyle aka kNOwLedGe420 mentioned that the GS-Rs were hand assembled like the ITR’s, which would add even more value to the breed. :sipread:
