Project Jade '93 GSR

I’ve been thinking more and more about going turbo. If I do, I’d like to be able to push around 350-400 whp.. do you think that can be achieved reliably on stock rods? I will be upgrading the pistons, but aftermarket rods for the b17 is very hard to find.. I’ve found peuter makes them but they’re quite pricey compared to rods for the b16/18. So I’m left with either paying for them or shotpeening my stock rods.. any opinions and advice would be much appreciated. The overall goal for my car is occasional track time and some weekend cruises. It will not be my daily driver.. but I’m struggling with wanting to keep it as stock as possible and just a fun weekend toy. Planning on keeping full interior as well

Decided to stick with NA for now, will possibly build a b18c to turbocharge down the road. But going to put another hold on project as I need to divert as much of my funds as possible to purchase a new house.. and as many know in CA that shit is expensive af. I will still be buying parts as i find good deals

I hear ya. Economy kinda sucks all over. CA restrictions definitely make it worse.

Even NA is tough in California. I have a very mild build with usdm itr pistons and itr cams in the B17, just to attempt to pass and she barely passed smog. Most smog places will turn off the car, do their visual and then start the car and then smog. Luckily, the guy that did my smog check did it when the catalytic was still hot after I ran the car hard. And the cops are cracking down on out of state plates.

Am also hoping for the housing market to crash

Unfortunately, i don’t think the market would crash like it did in 2008, but I’m hopeful lol . I’ll be runnning skunk2 tuner 1 cams and valvetrain with nippon ctr 11.1:1 pistons. Not worried about smog. Really leaning towards getting the pauter rods.. but $1300 for rods is painful lol

Housing market crash :folded_hands:. The stock market is tanking.

Nice setup. I should have gone up on the compression. Just curious on what header you plan to get? I have read that the 4-1 hangs too low on our Integra

$1300 for just the rods

I plan on running tri y headers for no other reason than i think it looks pretty cool and will be mating it to hks hi power exhaust system. I had it on my 91 ls a long time ago but i sold the car and forgot to take it off.. i loved the way it sounded on my car
