I’ve already searched and read the Teg Tip about it. What I dont get is this:
Then put the top half of the box (complete with screwed in filter) in to the intake pipe like it was and put the box back where it used to be.
I dont understand that at all. I have the top half of the airbox with the filter screwed in, and connected to the intake hose. Then what do I do? whats the back box?

Did you read your quote carefully? It says “put the box back where it used to be” hehe… I think your too excited cause i tend to do the same when im excited and anxious on accomplishing something. I wasnt trying to let you done in any way.
now you go to your local import shop and buy a short ram intake system, haha you will want to support it in some way so it doesnt bounce around to much. You dont wanna suck anything up your intake
there isnt that much of a difference between the two i have a short ram on my integra, short ram is pretty much sucking in engine air which is warmer, and cold air you are ucking in more colder air and as you know a car runs better with colder air because it is much denser than warm air, so you get more air when it is cold, the thing you have to watch out for with cold air is that if you go through a puddle and suck up some water it can do some serius damage to your engine

Well on Tuesday I think I am going to do the DIY RAM AIR (teg tip) during auto mechanics.
What is better? CAI, or ram air? Does a CAI sound a lot better?
My only opinion about getting an intake is that I used to have a '95 lude v-tec w/ AEM CAI and that thing screams when v-tec kicks in. My friend says it sounds louder than his and he had a short ram same car. As for water getting in there. All you have to do is cut it just like a short ram and change it according to weather.
As for what is better… I ran 1/4 14.9 with just AEM CAI rest stock on that lude. Stock is like 15.1 . I know you cant compare an H22 Vtec to our b18. But i hope this comparison with the ludes helped.

I believe the man was refering to a “RAM AIR” not a “SHORT RAM”
ram air = intake that has air forced into it through momentum, i.e. a front-mount filter or a line hooked to the vent on a 90-91 bumper
Short ram = short intake hose that sucks air in from right next to the battery.
Personally, i like the ram air, its a bit trickier to install (gotta move some stuff around) but i’ve noticed significant increases top end (partially due to the fact that air is being packed in while i’m haulin at the top end of each gear)
Short ram seems like a waste of money to me, unless you’re running it during the winter because your cold air extension would put ur filter underwater.

which one is better is severely objective. IMO each has their own power characteristics. cold air will have a different power curve compared to short or ram air. the best one is one specfically made for what power goal for trying to achieve. ie. cold air may not be best for some, while for others it will serve them better.
and what i mean by specifically made is one that the tube length and diameter has been designed for the mods your running and your power goals.
