quick tailight question

everything he said is absolutely correct.

I am trying to decide which colored bulb to use for the rear. I would like to use some LED bulbs, because I found one that looks clear when not lit. I hate the way a orange bulb looks durring the day, because you can just see this little orange dot. However, the LED bulb says that is lights super bright orange. Since there are no more lenses in there, I am afraid that it will appear too bright. It already looks very bright with white bulbs. Any suggestions on LED bulbs?

the orange dot isn’t really a big deal to most.

Illegal or Legal in Oregon?

If anyone know this information would be greatly appreciated, I searched the forums and could not find out the truth behind clear lights.
Well I have a 91 LS coupe, just recently bought clear, corners & taillights. I searched the Oregon DMV site but could not find out if having clear lights were legal.

And I was wondering what bulbs i’d need for clear tail lights on a 91 ls coupe, thanks for your time, Wes.

What kind of bulbs I’ll need

I have a 1991 Acura Integra LS, 2 door
I ordered clear tail lights off of ebay that did not come with bulbs, and I live in Oregon.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...2404882423&rd=1

Iam wondering what kind/color and or type of bulbs I will need for one set of clear tail lights, looks like it inserts 5 bulbs.
Something like the 1156 or 1157, Im not to familiar with bulbs in fact I have not even drove the car yet

On the above statement it says red taillights when lit need to be viewable @ 500 ft, so I was wondering if the a regular type of colored bulb will be bright enough or not with the clear taillights. So Iam leaning towards a couple LED lights, but i only want to buy them if i will really need them. Thanks for your time, Wes.

u need the actual link, not the shorten’d one.
as for bulbs, u would need color coordinated bulbs. red for brakes, and driving lights, and amber/orange to turn signals (some people use white/clear, not sure if legal though, but in cali, it is illegal), and white/clear to reverse lights.

What bulbs

I guess i need to know what kind of bulbs, like 1156 or 1157? led, what bulbs will i need for clear tail lights, thxs

Interesting?

So it actually seems the clear taillights are illegal in oregon, as did you know altezzas are illegal as well.

Even with the red bulbs, it states that the cover must be red itself.

if you goto this site http://fmvss108.tripod.com/

It has very detailed information on taillights, if there legal in your states, or other lighting information. I suggest reading a site like this before you buy clear taillights like me without knowing there illegal.

So I guess i will have to paint the bottom-half with a red candy apple paint.
