Radiator

My friend’s 92 Teg needs a new radiator. He asked me if I could install it for him. I’m pretty handy with G2’s and think I can do it. Plus I have the handbook to tell me where all the hoses and bolts are. If anyone has done this before and can tell me how hard it is or give me some pointers I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Okay, one more question. I obviously have to drain the radiator, do i have to drain the coolant out of the block as well?

You don’t have to drain the block of you don’t want to. Most of trh coolant in the head will come out when you disconnect the hoses. You might as well flush it out while you have it apart. Put the lower hose on while the radiator is loose (not bolted down or in the pegs at the bottom). The lower hose clamp is a pain in the a**. It shoudn’t take longer than 1 hour to pull the old one and install the new one. Don’t get coolant on the paint it will stain!!!

I use a walmart kiddie pool ($9.00) to keep the leaking coolant from staining my driveway / garage when I work on cars. it makes for easy clean up, and is worth every cent.

Make sure to bleed the air out of the head after the new radiator is installed.
