you have mail sir.

i’ve got a random tech hi flow cat. i can’t really tell if it’s flowing better than a stock unclogged cat or not, but i had to get this one cuz i didn’t want to buy a stock cat. it makes the car louder, which is a plus for some, but i didn’t like that part of the deal.

92gs-r, does the carsound make the car any louder than before?

I need a cat that has the same sound. not louder. is the performance worth the sound if I’m going for a quiet setup?

thanks

unfortunately yes i noticed that the carsound made it louder (which bothered me)… but i figure if i have I/H/E/IM/TB… might as well finish it off w/ a high flow cat, eh?

What would one expect to pay for a Random cat? Im assuming that the cat would be more quiet than a test pipe. Please let me know if Im wrong.

…and will it smog legally???

hey will the car sound cat pass emisions and where could i find one
thanks

shenrie, random makes model specific (more expensive) and universally variously sized (less expensive) high flow cats. i’m sorry i seem to have forgotten the price i paid for mine, which was application specific, but in retrospect, i was foolish for doing so. i could have saved a good deal of money by just getting the universal one. you just got to get some flanges welded on for the universal one.

from my experience, the random cat is quieter than a test pipe, and the test pipe i was running was resonated.
