I have an oil pan leak on my 90 LS and I can’t seem to get rid of it. I have all the service records from the car (the last owner was great about keeping the records) and the pan gasket has been changed at least 4 times prior to my ownership of the car.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know the solution to the problem? Note: I have not changed the 128 dollar pan yet, and am reluctant to until I know almost for certain that this will solve the problem.
Any hints anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Make sure all the nuts and bolts are accounted for and torqued down. For some reason one of mine fell off and I had a small leak. I replaced it and it’s all good now. Or make sure the gasket is on right.
I had the pan installed by a mechanic who works on and sells primarily honda cars. He said he has never seen a Honda/Acura do this before. It is the correct gasket and torqued to spec. Do you think that the pan could be warped or anything like that? I just don’t know what to try next.
My pan used to leak really bad and I must have changed the gasket 50 times and yes I torqued the bolts to specs. My car is just so low, I think when I would bottom out it would mess up the pan. I dont leak no more but Im not slammed no more…
