remember the itr intake cam trick- anyone try just a toda/jun intake cam

hey guys- just wondering for future reference sake, if you had ctr or itr cams, could you just upgrade the intake cam ( for lack of money ) and make power, or would the whole lift duration be off or somethign? i understand you would need stronger valvesprings and retainers.

question: the retainers are all the same on all dohc vtecs- so does that mean your retainers dont need upgrading unless you go past 8500rpms ( type r redline ) and would itr valvetrain be sufficient for toda’s? just curious…research is always fun right? seeya

TODA Spec B & C camshafts require TODA valve springs. For Spec A camshafts, the following Honda/Acura valvetrain components maybe used up to 8400rpm on both the intake and exhaust side.
Remember its best not to mix valvetrain.
as for the o.e.m. cams, its best to use ctr cams given you have inner valvesprings in the exhaust side, stock b16 heads dont have em.
youre right reaserch is fun:read:
