replacing fog lights fuse???

replaced my foglights with one of those HID lights and didn’t know that the high wattage would blow up my fuse. It looked good for a couple of days but didn’t last that long. Can anyone tell me where can I locate this blown fuse? Is replacing it with higher fuse acceptable?

the fuse is located in the under dash fuse box.

it is to the left of your feet. there should be a fuse puller in there, but if not, just use pliers. i would suggest using a lower wattage bulb. you are supposed to use a 15A, so use it.
the housings, etc are made for 55w, any higher could result in melting of the housing, or draining of power.

i may just be being safety sally, but just go with the 55w, they look just as nice. if you feel they aren’t as bright, remove the glare guards, makes it look 5x brighter.

what glare guards?

well, if you take the fog lights off of the car… and you look inside them (after removing the bulb itself), then you will see a metal piece inside. this is a pain in the ass to remove. i took some sheet metal cutters and cut it up until it came out.

you can… put it in the oven at 400 for like 10 min to melt the silicon putty around it, which would allow you to open it up.
then you could just unscrew the lights, but this would require you buying more silicon putty.

just try to cut them out while scraping the lense as little as possible.

good luck

koo!! thanks man
