Why do you want a whole new one? You need a new mechanic cause that should be easy money. Junk yard would be your best bet I’m sure.
i’m sure i could replace it if i bought a new trailing arm. i dont have the tools, knowledge, patience for doing this and i know mine needs replacing. i was just seeing a option that was possibly available
If you were able to get a new arm, it would probably have a new bushing already, if not, you’d be in for the same job regardless.
If you had 2 people with decent knowledge, I think the job would be cake to be honest. Getting the old bushing out of the shell was the hardest part of the whole thing. I see why people torch it out. I ended up using a crazy vibrating dremmel attachment that looks like a air chisel, but it was meant for wood. Then a lot of flat head screwdriver hammering and prying. Then a sanding dremmel attachment to remove the left over rubber and make the inside of the shell smooth.
Like I’ve said, dremmel tools were my savior doing this job. A bench grinder would be even better to remove all the old rubber off the pin once you get it out of the shell. I should done a DYI.
see i’ve NEVER done anything like this, where i stay now, this old bitty is nothing but an aggravating complaining bitch, and i dont have a torch, dremel tool, none of that. seeing as though i wouldnt need those tools for much of anything unless i already had them, it’s useless for me to buy them then store it. so it’s better for me to pay the man the same i would end up possibly paying for all those tools and the headache. i do some of my own stuff, but somethings i just let my mechanic do
