Rolling Fenders

anyone know how i can do it?? if its easy? will i **** up my paint?
or should i just have a shop do it??

i finally got my camber aligned, but now, its tooo perfect. i rub alot, and i cant slap my 17’s back on until i figure out how… anyone?
thanks

I saw an article about that in Super Street a couple years ago (if I remember correctly) I saw them doing it with a baseball bat. I don’t really know if the rolling fenders technique differs with the kind of car/paint you have though.

rolling fenders

please explain…thanks:D

i hear if you want it done right (besides the baseball bat method) you have to do it with a special fender rolling machine. i’ve seen a car that just had its fenders rolled with the machine, and yes, it does scrape and scuff up the paint where it rolls along the upper part of the fender. but as for the rolling job, it did an excellent job.

i hope technology has advanced in this department and maybe you can find a machine that will do it right without damaging the fenders.

You need to heat up the paint so that it “softens” up and has a little flex then use the bat or pipe. I want to get my fenders rolled as mentioned above wih that machine. I FOLDS the fender clean.

but what is the outcome that you are looking for??? a fender that looks like is been dented all over?? please reply

scrapin’tegra,

if you look or feel under your fenders on the outer most part, you’ll see/feel that there is metal that protrudes inward–this is not a design flaw or anything, just how honda molded these body panels from the factory. anyways, when you lower your car a lot and you put in plus+ size rims, those metal protrusions often come into contact with the rim or tire, which is a big no-no. rolling these protrusions up and into the rest of the inner fender flushly will let you run your race springs & plus+ size rims/tires. get it? i hope that helps out your curiosity…

i did it for a guy that had some rims with the wrong offset on his accord… did it with my dremel and a rubber tipped hammer… charged him 20.00 hehehhe… it was funny cause originaly he was jus asking me did i know anyone who wanted to buy his rims cause he said they were to wide… next thing i know im dremeling sections of the fender and bangin away hhahahhaha… turned out perfect… no dents, no debris, nadaaa… its actually pretty easy to do, if you want ill show you how.

well this is a tricky question.

my set up is about 2.3 inches dropped on progress competition coilovers, so take the 2.3 inches and add an additonal 22mm of shortness to the pot, due to the fact that the progress shocks r tham much shorter than regular shocks… before i had my camber corrected the 17’s fit great, but consider i had a -2.25 camber in the fronts and -1.3 in the back… so if anything the clearance problems on a drop that low will come from all sides…like i’m experiencing now. if u look under ur fender, up into the wheel well u’ll notice that directly above the tire is a plastic housing, well my tires r scraping thru that, slightly rubbin against the upper control arm, baaaaaaaaaarely. and hardly, i mean hardly rubbing on the protrusions of the fender… so in all reality unless ur dumped about 3inches and hauling anus w/a perfectly correct camber, then u should be fine!!! yeah i know ur thinking damn i never wanna dump my car that low, but brother…it doesnt matter how low u go, but how well u set up ur car driving that low!!! i’m almost done…some shaving of the upper control arm (u can also slightly bend ur upper control arm, the degree of bending doesnt really have a realistic negative affect on ur suspension, but avoid it if u can) rolling the fenders and a sway bar should do the trick
