actually there is obviuosly far more place for rotas than oppinated losers that don’t know WTF there even talking about.
Neither Spoon nor Regamaster make there own rim it’s done by a third party in the same country where rotas are made.
It’s like saying Speed masters are fake when in reality they are made from the original Type C mold that is used to also make Buddy Club , Black Racing, Icon’s and even APC’s.
lame ass attitudes toward other people cars are the ultimate rice
even in front of neon paint and huge wings on cars that drag race everywhere at least the neon guy is happy but with you guys no one is.
BTW “real Mugen” means what exactly ? Damn if they don’t sub contract out most items too.
I just think its funny when people scream ricer for fake spoon and mugen parts when they sport rotas themself… which ARE knock off FAKE rims.
If you talked to some of the gurus on here they’d say the same thing… I’d rather sport stock rims the some fake knock off ones. And thats one of the reasons I still do.
I just think a lot of you are mad and have your head in your asses because you actually bought them, and i’m speaking the truth. If you all had altezzas and I said they were horrible tails you all would get on my case. The truth is rotas are no different then type r floor mats off ebay.

Mugen type oil caps?..umm okay, sure…now hat’s RICE.
And my rims…they are factory Acura. Rotas are not that bad though.
I would never wear a fake rolex. Wheels are different…you actually have to park your car outside. Now tell me, a Rolex…do you leave your “Rolex” outside on the street? Of course not…but your car with these expensive wheels, it stays outside. Do you mean to tell me that you bring your car with you inside when you go to a resturant? Hell NO! right?
If you had a set of real, expensive, wheels then your car is most likely a target to some theiving bitch. They will not steal rotas. Especially now, there’s a lot of theft going on nowadays.
I would gladly have the original Spoon or whatever brand name rims on my car…but my car is not a show car…it’s my dailey driver. My car spends alot of time outside on the street. I do not want something flashy on it so that it can have a chance to be stolen.
But hey…if you think ROTA wheels are RICE, then cheers to you. To each his own. My idea of RICE are those altezza tail lights, z3 fenders, those type “R” badges or stickers under or over the “EX” or “DX” emblems, LED windshield sprayer, and stickers reading “POWERED BY ACURA,” etc…
I never really thought of Rota wheels as RICE. The only rims that I think are straight up RICE are those Volk knock-offs…“ROY’S” engineering…using the the same type font as “Ray’s” engineering. Now that is RICE.
The truth is rotas are no different then type r floor mats off ebay.
except most likely the guys who buy them are going from 30 pount steel hubcapped 14in stockers to 12 pound 15in 7in wide rims
Type R floor mats are for type r’s which really don’t need floor mats.
Rotas don’t pretend to be spoon rims only affordable and easy to get copies for 1/3 as much + They have some ill colors and aren’t as likely to bend as regamasters.
AFTER FREAKING ALL SPOONS ARE REBADGED REGAMASTERS nothing really O.G. there patna
BTW I have 13in TE-37’s on my race car, 15in Custom Buddy Clubs on my daily driver and soon to be recieved ultra custom Kinesis wheels along with a set of the slate Slipstreams with shaved imported Yolks for track days.
the flaw in your guys’ disapproval is that rota actually makes decent quality wheels. the bottom line is they are affordable, reliable, and attractive. best of all, they are are the same time lightweight which suits many peoples demands.
yes they are replicas. obviously this is not important to many people. could they have made their own designs? sure, but would they have sold? who knows. from a business standpoint, they delivered.
do people try to pass them off as real racingharts or mugens? no. the people who matter to us already know they are rotas. trying to pass them off as authentic, that is my definition of RICE. you cant compare these wheels to lame accessories. some of you need to get off your high horse and stop trying to be so OG all the time.
as far as cracking, yes there have been well known instances of this occuring under more extreme circumstances. remember, this occurs to EVERY manufacturer. however, this does not happen often and rota stands behind their product by helping these people replace their wheels.
if you have a dedicated racecar, then ya you may consider getting the genuine product. if you are a daily driver and track occasionally, these are a great deal. some track-only cars use rotas, so that tells you the levels they reach. obviously you wont see these at le mans.
in answer to the topic, 15’s run about $100/each. check www.groupbuycenter.com for deals.
:werd: I bought my rota subzeros because I love the way they look on G2’s. Yes, I would have loved to bought Racing Harts but I’m in college, and I’m on a budget. So when people see my car and they’re like “wow, I really like those wheels on your car,” (btw, my car looks like the black one on 16" subzeros that posted earlier). I tell them “yeah they’re pretty cool looking” and leave it at that. I don’t spout out some shit about how they’re JDM racing wheels. I might say they’re lightweight and they’re matched with Parada Spec-2’s, so they could be used for more spirited driving. So yeah, spend 2K on Racing Harts and 500 for tires, or spend 1K on Rotas with awesome tires…think about it…
w0rd to xdep…couldn’t have said it better man…how can u go wrong w/ quality, light weight, and price? sorry, i can’t say i have volks, but i have the next best thing w/o spending my whole paycheck from my 17 y/o in school ass…

age is no excuse… I had that fully built head on when I was 16… put it on myself too. I worked my ass off trying to make money… at one point I was $1000 in debt to a friend… but i got everything paid off. I’m 18 now and look where I’m at.
With most people (myself included), the car comes after school, bills, family. So, for a 16 year old to be $1000 in debt is pretty rare (and foolish). I don’t buy parts for my car unless I have the money, and I don’t know too many people that can justify making payments on a set of wheels. I could understand that if you make $100K a year, then sure, why not indulge a bit in some Rays or Mugen wheels, but for the average Joe, there’s not much motivation to spend so much money. To each his own i guess though…
I know only 2 people under 20 that say paid for thier own car, pay thier own insurance, don’t live at home and still can afford to plunk down Mugen money. I know hundreds who had thier car bought for them, had thier wheels paid for them have thier insurance paid for them.
A set of Spoon rims with good tires is going to run somewhere more than 1500 new which can be what even a full time worker makes on minimum wage after taxes in 2 months. And if your doing the above thats just not smart.
All day long I here people say how 1 product or another is inferior. The fact is there are alot more people who own Rota and are happy with them then people on web boards who snub thier nose at them, some of the same people who have in the past owned horribly usless junk themselves. I have had many sets of nice rims over the years but by slipstreams I use for track days are some of the most fun seeing as how if I run into something or get them f’d up I am not going to lament, unlike my CP-038’s that died after some ricers exhaust came off in front of me a couple years ago at LS.
wow people these are wheels for crying out loud!
the way i see it is if your not buying a forged wheel, then anything cast is going to be just as strong as the next cast wheel. so who cares what it says on the wheel, everyone knows how to tell real mugens from rotas and i give way more props to those with real mugens, but i would never rag on someone with rotas.
so stop getting your panties in a bunch over someone asking if rotas are good wheels.
When my parents went to Philippines, they picked me up Rota Circuit 8’s and Slipstreams at $210 a set shipped! Its just to make you people feel sick on how much you paid for yours without the condom If you want the receipt I can scan it, but the big problem is, it’s in pesos
BS, no high schooler can afford cars like those. The cars are probably legit, im talking about the parts. How much did mommy and daddy pay for? Who pays for insurance?

its very possible… but if i went around telling everyone how to make/save money then it would just raise the competition.
