OK MY TIMING BELT BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND PEOPLE WERE TELLING ME THAT MY MOTOR WILL BE SCREWED AFTER THAT. I WAS GOING ABOUT 60 AND THE MOTOR SHUT OFF. WITH 130K MILES ON THE CAR. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO PEP BOYS AND THEY FIXED IT. FOR ABOUT 300 BUCKS AND SAID THAT SOME VALVES MAY BE BENT. AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP THEY SAID THAT NO VALVES WERE BENT BUT I THINK THERE IS CUZ I CANT GO PAST 5000 RPM, I MEAN I CAN, BUT IT STARTS TO MAKE A CLICKING AND GRINDING NOISE. ANOTHER THING IS MY MOTOR MOUNTS HOW DO I REPLACE THOSE THEY SAID I NEED THOSE FIXED. THE CAR KINDA HITS OR SOMETHING WHEN I PRESS THE GAS REALLY QUICK LIKE IF THE MOTOR IS LOOSE. I DUNNO BUT IM GETTING TIRED OF THIS CAR. AND ANOTHER THING, RADIATOR FLUID IS STARING TO LEAK. AFTER THE TIMING BELT BROKE.
SO COULD ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON GETTING MY CAR FIXED AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VALVES OR WHATEVER. I WILL GLADLY APPRECIATE IT.
Damn pepboys  I wouldnt even go there for an oil change…man look around and see if you can fine an ASE certified Honda shop around…here in Fl there all over and do just as good as the Acura Dealer Shop guys…
have a good shop do a compression test and especially a leak down test for you. that’s the best way to know without tearing apart the head cause the valves won’t seat right. they will be able to tell if u have bent valves and a good engine.
I’m not sure if you’re valves are bent, but my timing belt jumped off my pulley when my distributor seized me on me and I was going about 65 Kms at the time. I was lucky though, no valves were bent on mine… so, just to clarify…it is Possible that nothing could happen if your timing belt breaks, but it’s more likely that valves will bend if you’re driving at a high rate of speed.
