shocks and spring installation

wassup everybody…!!

can someone help me or can hook me up with some instructions on how to install a tokico blues shocks and H&R sport springs…

i am planning to install mine and i wanna get it right

so can someone please help me…

thank you much…

its very easy…the front will be aesier then the back. just do a search for the helms manuel download and look under the suspension section. it will show you every nut and bolt to remove in order to take off you shocks, then it’ll show you how to remove the springs…you’ll have trouble with it if its stock springs cause you’ll need the compressor but there is ways aound it, just be careful. give yourself some time though, first time i tried it took me 2 1/2 hours just to do the rear.

oh kewl

yao! dude… kewl…!

is it okie if u give me a website for those guidelines?? i just wanna see or read them

thanks man…

Nothing sucks about it. If you want to learn more about your car, get the book and get your hands dirty.

It’s better than asking simple questions online. Any maitenance problem you can come up with will be in the manual. Ask here only if it’s unclear - which will be hard to do considering all the exploded diagrams.

its all there, just don’t know what section number it is so you’re going to have to find that out.
but once you download it, its pretty simple. have fun

So, what do you do when the head snaps off the fork compression bolt?, I figured that was going to happen so i did it on an extra strut assembly i had lying around. The head snapped off, then I cut the bolt through the gap in the fork, I got the fork off but now there are two pieces of metal blocking the hole. I dont have a good enough torch to blast it out, the air hammer didnt get the one out either. I think i might have to re-tap it?

See if a machine shop can help you get it out. It may just be cheaper and easier to buy another one from a junk yard.

suspension is section 18. Front is first, then rear starts at 18-21.

thanks

dude man… i wanna thank all ya! u guys are cool…

this will definitely help me a lot

peace out yao!!

question…

yao!!

i have a question… can anyone here show me how low is 1.8" is… picture would be cool…

thank you…

Sure! AGX’s all around and H&R Sports. My car is 2.0"F and 2.1"R.

i did mine last week. i started at 4pm and got done at midnight. i was working by myself. Make sure u lube all the screws before u start, it will make life so much easier. i wish i did it.

Yes as they say the front is easier than the back. i did the front first and thought it was pretty hard, then look at the back thinking its gonna be a piece of cake, boy was i wrong.

if u have the shock and spring combo it’ll be easy.

  1. Lube all nuts/screwa you can find dealing with suspension. The do it agian just b4 u start.

  2. Reserve a lot of time./Get someone to help.

  3. Reserve money for any mishaps that can happen (just to be safe)

  4. Get all ur tools ready (saves a lot of time), get a spring compressor just in case

  5. Loosen lug nuts on wheels

  6. Jack up car (best if u can jack front and back at same time but hard to do, so jack up front or back which ever side u do first

  7. Take tires off. Lube some more

  8. Unscrew brake lines from shock assembly (refer to manual for size of nuts/screws)

  9. unscrew screw to take shock out of the fork. (can be dificult to get out)

  10. Take out shock spring assembly and put new ones in. U said u have the schock spring combo so its much easier than what i did(kept stock shocks, so i had to take spring off with spring compressor and all that other crap.)

  11. Work on one side at a time so if u mess up you have something to look at.

  12. Put everything back in reverse order.

  13. Tighten everything to factory specs

  14. check for clearance with tires to see if u went too low.

question?

yao!!

dudes… i have a guestion again…

for tokico blues, do u guys know how to put the bushings??

coz, theres like lockin nut then the washer then bushing the colar and the bushing again…

but then when i put them together, the bushing the colar and the bushing won’t fit do i supose to sqeeze them together in order to be attached??
