Someone is trying to break into my car at nights, need good advice.

That’s a crappy situation that you are in. If I was in that position, I would get an alarm for sure. But if they keep messing with the car, I’d probably move it somewhere else or sell it. Sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle anymore to keep a Honda.

kill them.

Man I tell you what if I ever get my car the way I want, or close too it, I am going to lock it up in storage during the week and drive it on the weekends to the lake, formal events or whatever. I will get a fuckin Ford fiesta to drive around all the time. Those should not bee too tempting.

I decided just to remove my $300 head unit out of the car for a while so there is less temptation.

Remind me to never move to Salt Lake Shitty oh the thievery!.. Geez that sucks…

Can anyone tell me the best brand to get for a quick release? Looking to purchase this handy dandy product… I honestly want it more for the looks but I know thieves aren’t that sophisticated here in LA and that will deter them here for sure… At least I hope

Put a note on it saying “I know what you are trying to do. I invested in a camera and gun, you’ve been warned”

Dang man that happened to me too, same place they tried to get in yours. Next day I got an alarm installed and I had the hood pinned too so if they try to pop the hood to cut any wires the alarm will go off. They took some of my work stuff so I never leave anything in my car anymore. If they can’t see anything of value they will probably leave it alone unless they want the car.

Just FYI for the automatic - Autolock works great on the brake pedal when used in conjunction with the “Club” mounted between the shifter and emergency brake handle.

Tow truck

I have the Audiovox Prestige 2-way alarm. Has a ignition kill switch built in and the remote is pretty loud if it gets hit/unlocked while armed. Plus if the alarm goes off and for some reason you didn’t hear it, next time you unlock it beeps a different pattern to let you know and shows on the display. Helped me realize people hit my car when I parked next to the volley ball court at my apartment. And if you go to any reputable car audio place, they should be able to do it no problem. I can tell you it’s easier for them to do our cars versus newer model cars.

My friend had the same probablem in high school. So we staked out hidden with a paintball gun. Needless to say that shit stopped.

Hell yeah!! Would have done the same.

yeah SLC is high for car theft. I almost had my car stolen many years ago when it was stock with some gauges. I had an alam but the pager remote didn’t work very well. It’s when they first came out and they range wasn’t that good. Any ways the stuck screw drivers in the drive/passenger doors and now there is a hole in my door starting to rust out. They didn’t get anything as there wasn’t anything in there other than my cd player. But still the damage is done and now I have to pay for it. It happened right in front of the police station too. I walked over to the police station to file and they said they don’t do anything about them. It’s getting to point where you have to take matters into your own hands. I had theifs too!!

If it was me, I would definetely start with the basic deterents like everybody mentioned above. Alarm, steering wheel club, removing valuble items from sight, etc.
I would also contact the police, maybe they’ll patrol once in a while and create attention to the thieves and they’ll back off.
If not, take matters into your own hands in a “civilized manner” (because its unfortunetely frowned upon to shoot down thieves…lol)
Good luck with everything man, hopefully it gets resolved. Situations like these suck because even if they dont steal anything, they still damage your car and it leaves you with that shitty, uneasy feeling.

Aren’t removable steering wheel hubs all the same, interchangable? Couldn’t you buy several brands and do the homework on a car and bring the right one to drive off?
