I have the engine in my room right now, I got a 1989 B16A motor, I took the cams out, cant get to the Valve springs, Valves, retainers…
I don’t know which book to buy, etc … I will buy **** online if it helps me to take this engine apart myself…and tells me how to put it back together!! CAN YOU GUYS GIVE ME A website that explains how to basically work on this motor yourself…or a book that they sell on how to do it yourself…

it’s the FACTORY acura service manual. It has all the torque specs, diagrams, etc, etc. kinda hard to decipher at times though. also get the Haynes Book. It’s easier to read but less in depth.
To take out and install new valve springs, you need a spring compressor. HTH
My motor is a JDM B16A does Helms have a manual for a JDM motor?
a b16a is a b16a. they’re all constructed the same. get the manual for the 90-93 tegs. it has a section on the b17 which is almost a b16, only thing different is the crank and rods. HTH.

I neeed to take the engine apart and put it back together. I am just not quite sure because the motor is a pre-OBD motor, what about the sensors etc etc?

A manual from a 92-93 GSR, 94-9x Del Sol VTEC or 99-00 Civic Si are all pretty much the same ****. A B16A is a B16A wether it’s JDM, USDM, or what not. As far as the sensors go… . when you take your LS motor out you’ll understand what sensors are important and what sensors are not. Disregard the fact that the motor is Pre-OBD and just work with the longblock for right now. I would highly recommend using the Helms manual for a 92-93 Integra since it adds insight to wiring and proper vacuum hose routing.
