My speedo has been sqeaking very badly.I took the instrument cluster out and tried to lubricate the cable,but it did not help.Is the cable lubricated from the tranny fluid?Could my speedo just need replacing?The car has 272 thou on it.Any suggestions?
It would probably be best to just replace it…
You might be able to lubricate it, but then it’s just a matter of time til it starts making noise again.
Mine does the same thing, but only in the dead of winter… so I’m not that worried about it yet… but if it’s doing it all the time, you may as well replace it…

I figured I would have to,its just such a pain to take it out.I need to replace my gauge faces anyway,so I guess I can kill two birds with one stone! Thanks for the reply.
Mine did the samething went to The Acura Dealer and it was like US$30 or so and hasent made noise since

that is how much it cost for me and I had to put it in myself
