Spoon_'s highschool budget build thread

take the mirrors from the red car also. i hate RS mirrors.

LS/GS mirrors (folding):

RS mirrors (non folding):

Thanks for pointing that out! Ive never noticed.

it was one of the first things i did to my RS back when i was in high school.

I don’t have alot to offer but I am down to come and help.

That guys a jerk:rofl:

Dont worry. if I cant convince him to let you use his tools, ive goot plenty that you can:up:

taking out the interior is really a lot easier then it seems. its not like on new cars where it’s almost impossible and you break everything. even the dash comes out within minutes and is only held by 6 bolts. the rest is just a bunch of screws. very worth it if you ask me.

Ive taken out all of the seats, door panels, most of the rear panels and the center console out. I just thought the dashboard would be a bitch. Ill probably do it after my motor swap/suspension is done. But then again My blue interior is MINT!

I probably wont be starting the motor swap until next week. For now we will be stripping the parts tegg of all its valuables.

Ok to catch u guys up on what ive been doing.

So we pulled the motor out of my brothers “parts” car. He was going build this motor for boost but instead hes going to give it to me:angel:. Its way healthier than my motor so its a plus. We’re still going to take the motor out of my wrecked car and sell it. The money will go towards his b20.

dont mind my boxers. lol

And there she is…

And my brother is selling some of the parts so if your interested

Yesterday we moved my wrecked car into the garage.

Took the wheels off.

Took the minty seats out. no pic of rears

Put the old ugly seats back in. Insurance can have these:)

drained the oil and coolant.

i took off the header only to find some damage from bottoming out.

The white one looks clean for sure! I’ve replaced blower motors a few times, it’s pretty easy by now. Watch for the cowl leak - that’ll keep killing it. I’ve also done an almost complete interior swap (went black to tan), except for carpet, front seats and dashboard. I did it in the middle of winter so my fingers were KILLING me by the time I was done but it took a few hours. I guess that includes going back into the house to warm up and stuff. Not hard just time consuming.

 looks like you guys are gettin shit done SON:up:

Good job, though the pics make me sad. That red DA was my favorite at the meet, I’m sure you’ll build another nice one. I took a liking to you when i saw you polishing your rims at the meet lol. Pride baby!

Finished pulling the 2nd motor out today. One motor to pull and one more to drop in:rockon:

:werd:

now thats a fun christmas day project:rockon:

Hell’s yea! Progress is bueno

things look like theyre moving along nicely for ya. keep up the good work

Well get’er all buttoned up tomorrow for sure man!

I wanted to get it done for my bday but i guess that won’t be happening since robi needs his 14 hours of sleep…

It’s alright man, I’ll be over early tomorrow to help out

Oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHFDAY!!!

oh that right, happy birthday man:up:

that impact you get from shelby should make that stuborn crank bolt come right out with ease:up:

Well ive been a little lazy about updating this.
sorry about the shitty pics. I have a sony 5 mega pixel camera and it blows.

Well anyways me and Glen(BLKACK1) lowered the car in a little over an hour:angel:well he did most of the work lol.

Its blurry but the harness to the blower motor looked as if a rat was chewing on them and had some corrosion so i cut it and rewired it.

as soon as i dropped the blower motor it smelled like burnt plastic and looked like the motor had rust on it? But i replaced it and it works great now. I probably have that passenger side leak but didnt have time to check it out.

A blurry pic of the drop. Ill post some more pics when i put my 1 pieces on.

And i know i was suppose to be dropped another b18 in. But long story. For now with the help of agazi(mrpenny) he did a valve adjustment and tightened up the timing belt. The new plan is to drop in a b20:) hopefully that decision is final.

man my build thread sucks hahah
