I have a ‘91 Integra LS hatchback. About 1/2 the time, when I first take off, I hear a high-pitched squeal from underneath the rear of the car. It sounds like something tire or axle related. If I speed up, it completely goes away. So, it only happens at very low speeds (I really notice it in parking lots…nothin’ like that squeal echoing all around in an underground garage). Some days it doesn’t happen at all (like the day I brought it to a mechanic).
Would a lube job fix this? Is there something simple I could do to either pinpoint it or fix it? Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks!
