Whenever I make a fairly long turn, i hear a squeeking noise that seems like it’s moving from right to left or whatever way I’m turning under the dash. Anyone have this problem or know what it could be?
If I make the turn slowly, it will squeek slowly, if fast, then it squeeks fast. Something is definately moving, just not sure what.
It sounds like a creaky door opening? Any idea, it’s driving me bonkers!!!
this might not be it, but it’s one of the easiest things to check. make sure you aren’t low on power steering fluid, when the level is low the pump tends to sqeek when you turn. i’ve noticed this on my own car a few times, as my rack and pinion is slowly leaking.
if it’s not that it’s most likely something internal in the rack and pinion itsself, but i would have no idea how to tell you to diagnose it or fix it.
