when its cold in the morning i get a squeeking noise coming from the dash
it speeds up when the rpm’s rise and slows down when the rpms drop
this happens only when its cold in the morning
sounds like its coming from gauge cluster
anybody have any idea what it could be?
hey my teg did the same thing, except it wasnt rpm specific, it turned out my speedo cable just needed some grease, i took my cluster off, pulled the cable out (from the tranny side) cleaned it off with brake parts cleaner, and greased it up really well, one end of it was also bent just a tad, so i bent it back. listen carefully to the squeaking noise and see if it varies with vehicle speed, your tach is electronic, so it shouldnt be making any noise, your speedometer, however is mechanical.
hey project thanks for the reply
id there any way i can fix the problem without removing the gauge cluster?
if not then ill just wait till i get aftermarket gauges to take care of it
again thanks for the help
no, you HAVE TO pull out the cluster to get to where the problem is, there’s no way around it, you have to get to the area behind the cluster, clean it out and grease it up. you mentioned getting aftermarket gauges to fix the problem, this will not fix it, besides, a whole new cluster is hella expensive, this is a 5 dollar fix.
