I was told that one of my CV Boot needed to be changed but doesn’t it usually make noise when your turning if it’s bad??
If it shows signs that it is about to split, shops may recommend replacing them. When the boot begins to split and grease starts coming out… then you will need to change it asap. Once you hear clicking, it is too late to save the joint.
Just look for splattered grease around where the boot is. If there is a lot of grease then check the boot for a split.

You have some time, even once you begin to hear clicking. Mine were split I drove on them for a month, 5min drive to work, and had them rebuilt by a local shop for $50.00. damn affordable if you ask me, the guy had my axles done 1.5hrs after I dropped them off too.
