My Syncros are blown on my tranny. Anybody kow how to replace them? or know of a link for instructions? Or is it even worth replacing them and not just putting another tranny in?
Thanks

For most people I would say that it’s cheaper and more “cost effective” to replace the tranny with a JDM unit. Don’t pay anymore than $400 though. You can usually find them for around $350. But if you are mechanically skilled, have more tools than you know what to do with, and a lot of time on your hands, it’s a task that can be done. I am rebuilding one here soon. But only the 2-3 synchro is bad. I would say in oder of difficulty, rebuilding the tranny is harder than rebuilding a motor. It’s the last thing I learned how to do. Later.
Thanks alot
I’ve done a motor before but never a transmission. It’s my daily driver so I don’t have the time to fool around. Thanks alot for the advice, I just get a replacement in the spring.
Thanks again
The bad thing about getting a replacement is that its a gamble on if its good or not. You have to go thru all the trouble with the removal and install just to find out your new tranny is worse than your old one. I would try and find someone on here to help me and rebuild yours. Or better yet, get a jdm one with lsd and rebuild it then swap them out and sell yours.
Thanks for the Advice… maybe when the warmer weather comes |I’ll get it rebuilt…
Thanks for the advice guys
