ok i wired my amp months ago and finally built a box, but before i connect the power wire to my battery i wanted to know if any of you guys had a problem with the charging system in your tegs after running heavy bass? i have the original alternator in my 91 and a couple year old battery, dont want to blow anything, the amp is only 200 watts and is powering only one 12
anybody?
You will be fine, just hook it up and bump away…

yeah u should be fine i have a 275w thproblem that runs all of that and i have a brand new battery and have had no problem, the most problem that u might have is a dying battery other than that i agree just hook it up and bump pissin off all the old people!

Like what Jason said hook it up and bump away…You should have no problems with “blowing stuff” if your charging system is working correctly. Im running around 700wrms of system power in my teg and havnt had any probs for over 2 years. Just remember not to bump with the engine off. And if you have been bummping heavily during driving make sure to idle for a minute before shutdown with the stereo off to ensure that your battery is charged so you dont strand yourself somewhere. Also you might see your headlights dim at night with all the acc. running…HTH
You should be fine, the system you have setup is relatively small and minor, so should be no problem. Just be sure to have a fuse for the power wire to your amp somewhere, I’m sure you already got this done.
your alternator is definitely enough. the only issue with your battery would be if you bump with the engine off. the most id run my stereo is about 20min, so always start your engine. expect your battery to die in about an hour with the engine off.
