Teggykid Running Log *New Wheels*

Does anyone even use this site anymore?

I use it everyday…when its actually working right. Your db is looking really good man! I’m lovin’ that color.

dam man… your car looks amazing…

i wish i had the time and money to do what you are doing…

thats real sick …

You still having problems sometimes? Every now and then when I first get on it won’t load, but if I hit refresh a couple times it will finally find the page. It’s really weird.

Looks Great and I love that color… That beauty would look even better with Isport for a rear window visor

The paint turned out nice! I wish my car started with fresh paint and headliner. Good luck on getting all the little details on the interior worked out! Are you going to paint the side molding or paint the molding lines back on the bumpers? What about a front bumper lip?

Side moldings are staying black for now and front and rear are staying painted. Does that seem weird? It think it looks fine but we may end up painting the side ones later. Still have some paint left over.

And I don’t have money to waste on the rear window visor. That’s a lot of money I could spend on other parts. Plus I still need to see a pic of it on a DB1 to see if I like it.

I’ll post some updates from T-I in a sec. I’ve kinda been slacking on here.

Update

Alright well some stuff done. Cleaned all the crap out of the car and vacuumed it. We have polished it about two more times. You were right though, polish then wax, haha. I just got confused. Right now we put some oil cleaner in it to help loosen all the oil up since it sat for so long. We have some Castrol oil, full synthetic, new oil pan gasket (head gasket is the one leaking oil), oil filter, and new vacuum hoses. Also picked up a manual so I can have something to look at. I might put up some pics in a little while, kinda tired though. Oh, and I got my first paycheck today!

Took the header and collector off. Threw some JB weld Industrial strength on them to fix the cracks. Finished with the oil filter and oil change. Didn’t change the oil pan gasket yet. Not sure if we will since that’s not what is leaking. Probably going to have my dad’s friend Juice come over and help us pull the head and change the gasket and maybe the piston rigs (might as well right?). Progress is coming along!

HELP

I started using my manual to check all the vacuum lines. The problem is the IM, throttle body, and fuel rail are all aftermarket. Some places where the hoses are supposed to go don’t exist. What should I do? Do all the hoses that run into the IM pretty much do the same thing? Or are they specific? Like on the back of and OEM IM, it has 4 “inputs” on the back right side. There is only one on mine. I’ll take some more pics when I get home tomorrow (at a friend’s) so any help would be appreciated. I’m sure some of you guys with aftermarket IM’s can help me out. It’s a XS Power IM if that helps. STR 65mm throttle body and fuel rail is unmarked.

Ok… Well the header and collector are back on. I THINK I have the vacuum lines right now, even though I had to make some changes. Gave the car a good spray down with the pressure washer and degreased the engine bay. Just gotta wait for the carpet and inside of the car to dry. Now my battery light comes on? It isn’t solid though, it kinda flickers. Any ideas? Figured some water is in something and just needs to dry.

Car does seem to run smoother now with the oil changed. Definitely smoking a lot less. I was going to take some pics of it outside but then it started storming. Maybe I’ll take some if it stops.

Started the car again. Oil level is good. But now when I give it gas the lights get brighter with the rpm’s. I assume it’s the alternator. Any other possibilities?

Alright well whatever was wrong is fixed now. Still have to figure out what codes the check engine light is throwing.

could be a bad ground some were since you did remove some interior pieces or the wiring harness maybe it doesnt have a good contact, also could be your battery is dieing

Nah the grounds are good. But it stopped now. The battery did die though, but idk what was left on. I’m uploading some pics from a little shoot I did and some updates too.

Check engine light is on. Got the code (one long blink, then two short) which is the EGR valve. Any idea where it’s located and how to fix it?

if your using a auto IM then it should be just infront of the throtle body just a little lower. I thought you had a manual though

Wait what are you referring to? I’m lost, haha.

Alright well a couple more things done. I’ll explain as I go along.

Took the VC off the get the plastic stuff off the side, I don’t remember why.

Just a pic of work.

Painted the inside with some sealant stuff

Changed up the intake pipe a little.

Fixed the rust that was there. Also fixed the battery trat too, though not pictured.

Intake after I went and bought a coupler.

New ground.

Basically what most of your interior would look like in a pile.

Another new ground.

Carpet and trunk pieces cleaned.

Small photoshoot! Still needed to be polished in a couple places on the doors and also painted towards the underside of the car.
