this turbo a good size for my goals?

hey guys well good thing there was that post about XSPOWER turbos and crap, cuz that is what i was gona get. so now im on the hunt for a turbo and i found one that is from a 300zx or so the person thinks… its a t3 (which im looking for) and the ratios are .48/.63 that last ratio might actualy be a .58 i forget. but im gona be boostin 12lbs on the track and 8 on the highway. and 10 around town. my question is what would i be loking at aprox. with spool time with a turbo this size? my motor is just a stock b18a. thanks guys.

between 3000-4000 rpm

i got this from uberteg he has the 48.63 t3

godrifttoday - so if i am reading that right… he had full boost at about 4500rpm? right?

i would say 4500 too oh yeah forgot to menetion he was boosting 12psi in that graph, how much power do u want to get? i have the same turbo just havent installed it. remember it can spool quicker with different manifold, some which flow good. and other important things look in here

and another user with a similar turbo t3 super

12lbs at the track 8 on highway… 10 daily driver… im hopeing to get 250ish whp. ill be happy with just 250 though… im not planing on making a race car i just want a quick teg but still streetable

250 is my goal as well but i have other things like victor x manifold and some aem cam gears which i know will give me a good amount of power

yea well i found this t3 .48 in/.63exh from a 300zx from garrett, and it is rebuilt and the person wants 150 for it… good price? shuld i grab it? no leaks, no cracks, fins are good, minimal play if none…

yea for 150 thats a good deal.

i think it might take closer to 12 psi to get you 250whp, but then again you did say you have other mods coming.

by the way, whats the trim on a .48/.63? like 50 trims?

its a 60 trim

That dyno sheet is 2 years old. he HAD that turbo for about 6 months, then got rid of that shitty little turbo.

I think your goals are reachable with that turbo and other mods. You are close to what i would think would be maximum achievable HP on THAT Turbo alone with a stock motor. I don’t think thats a bad thing either, the closer you match your equipment to your goals the better off your setup will be. Also, for $150 I don’t see how you can go wrong.

Some peeps obviously disagree ahem but if you could see there dyno graphs cough you would more than likely see they are missing out on torque in the low RPM’s with an oversized turbo.

I’d be interested to see how your other mods you list effect your final HP.

awesome thanks guys for your replys… they have helped me. keep em comin…!

at least we can keep it civil now.
