That is the question. I have my B18a in the DA, getting a B16 later on to boost(Low 13’s high 12’s) but my question is, would it be worth it to boost the LS? t’s got over 200,000 I’m sure, but I can get parts and pieces for a nice lil’ 6lb daily driver easily. Should I, or just save up for the B16? I wanna be able to hang with my friends(85% are boosted) on the freeway. But I’m not sure if it’s really worth it to save money for the LS, when It won’t be in there long. Decisions, decisions. Thanks in advance to any and all advice you are willing to give me.
the cost of buying a b16 and building it for boost is way more then jsut bulding your b18 up for boost. you’ll avhe more moeny to work with. less hassle IMO work with what you already got
tech is right^^
my answer is b18 and b16 hummmm 1.8L or 1.6L or better yet LS(more torque) or b16 less (torque) or hey how bout this rebuild the LS bottom and run strong or spnd money juss to aquire a b16 and then boost… pretty much… stay with the ls. mine runs hard and also alot of others on here you won’t go wrong… good luck…
Keep teh 1-8 and BOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooost it.
If I could do everything I did with my cars all over again, I would just pull out the B18a1 I had in my 90 DA, rebuild it with Arias 8.0:1 compression pistons and Arias rings (with stock rods), balance the bottom rotating assembly, and get new OEM crankshaft bearings, rod bearings, engine seals and head gasket. I would keep the head stock, and only get all the stock valves re-lapped. Then I would go full-on turbo, with Hondata.
In short, if I were you, I’d freshen-up, and strengthen your stock block, and then boost it.

:hmm: :hmm: :hmm: I don’t know what to do!! But I’m beginning to lean towards building the block and turbo, or getting a new block and building that then either swapping the head over, or should I get a new head also? What would be the best way to start building? I already have a drawn out plan, just go by my plan, or are there things that are more important than others I shold consider first?
if you like the hi-rpm of vtec, get crower stage 2 turbo cams and racing retainers/valve springs. they will be in my DA as soon as i can get them for my new setup. i think boost is better than vtec any time.
