:werd:
my EF was the same… @ 120kph all you can hear is violent wind and air… found out after replacing my speakers that my doors were replaced/repainted and they removed most of the insulation behind the panels! can’t wait to get my DA running though
good point thats probably my case, but my car is not salvaged
That’s weird, I drive my DA at a constant speed of about 70mph and don’t hear anything that’s annoying… only a lil bit of air noise, that’s typical though.
are your door seals & weatherstrip seals in good condition?
windows seal up to the edges and no visible openings are seen when doors are closed from the inside?
have you ever replaced your speakers in your front doors? just wondering because noise can go through that hole to the outside of the door panel, and let wind noise in.
also, are all your plugs on your firewall in? some people take some off to run power cables for aftermarket amps, wiring for alarms, or remove certain plugs to use for the rear window wiper plug.
my car is the complete opposite. i hear EVERYTHING…
especially valve train
Dynamat is heavy, and your going to put in the heaviest honda all ready.
the heaviest honda is the probably the honda odyssey and ridgeline.
anyways… dynamat extreme weights .45lbs / sq ft
lets say you purchase 60 sqft
60 x .45 = 29.25 lbs. and thats more than enough to do the trunk, doors, and possibly even the floor.
he probably ment as the DA’s being the heaviest honda in our compact car class, for our era
hmmm if you do some research our DA is pretty light and NO the heaviest honda in our era was the prelude or the accord. :sipread:
couldn’t have said it any better, but it can get expensive
There is an alternative to Dynamat sold in construction supplies outlets. Same MO: peel off the backing paper and press the sticky side into the chassis. It is substantially cheaper than Dynamat. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name. Saw it in another site wherein someone was bitching about noise and the cost of Dynamat.
you’re probably referring to peel & seal, you get what you pay for when it comes to that stuff. i’ve used it before, some people complain that it doesnt adhere very well and it that it gets worse when the weather is hot. vertical surfaces is no fun…lol
yah dynamat is way to go…its not that heavy at all the only prblem to me is all the expenses (dynamat itself + install if u dnt know how n dont wanna waste ur money)
yea, unless you’re using the car mainly for track purposes, i don’t see weight being much of an issue for a car that is used where noise is an issue to the driver
(50lb max? to get all major flat interior panels?)
unless you always have to beat the civic with the Bomz muffler next to you at every light, right?
I just drove up to Orlando 2 weeks ago and I was doing 5,000 RPMS on the Florida Turnpike and I did not experience this problem.
what type of material is the road paved with? There are several stretches of highway in NJ that are paved with a variety of material that make noise. The noise gets louder as your rate of speed increases.
Check out some of my old ass threads from when I had my da. I fully sound deadened the car using bedliner, b-quiet, vinyl composite, high density foam, and weather stripping. I would have to roll down the windows every once in a while just to make sure everything sounded right it was so quiet. I want to do the four door even more extensively but I just haven’t had the time or money yet.
