Yeah my bad their carbon gear set is 206.25 is what they are asking their website.

…some little extra cash and went with synchrotech’s carbon synchros and would highly recommend that you go with there product.
… might be helpful if he knew what a “little extra” was, then he can compare.
Not to worry. I was there today, and basically, I gave them a large enough deposit to hold the car for me. Now I can take my time and decide what I want, so can you. I took a quick look, and it seems the transmission and block have not been messed with. The car is a 92 or 93 coupe, the model with the color-matched mirrors, and electric windows. The transmission is a YS1, I will have to clean the plate to see the rest of the number.
The car was obviously someone’s pride and joy once, has some kind of older looking CAI, ss Greddy header, a few other basic mods, an interior someone cared about and maintained, stuff like that.
Then the head gasket blew, and what happened after that is just sort of sad… When I was 18, I would have loved to take it off their hands whole even with a blown engine.
High mileage though, so please take that into account, 211K miles (I think).
DO you know what all you’re getting?
DO you know what all you’re getting?
You mean what is on the car with the blown head gasket and usable, or what am I getting for my car?
I am getting the sunroof glass, and if in good shape, everything related incl. the tray and drains (someone threw a brick at mine). Hatch glass, if mint (already replaced it once, but has some bad scratches). Some parts for my LH door window, if compatible (donor car has electric windows, so it may not be). LH door latch. LH window seal (ripped in break-in attempt). RR and RL quarter glass trim. A side molding piece. I plan to keep or sell the bumpers, not sure what shape they are in, but at least the rear looks mint. Some plastic bits and panel parts. Oil pan, if not rusted. One of the front splash guards under the front of the engine.
And, I plan to get as many of the control arm and suspension pieces as I may want to R&R, b/c it is easier to replace bushings on a part that is off the car, and then just swap.
The car is the same color as mine, but interior fabric looks/feels a bit different. I don’t know much about that yet.
I WAS going to keep the distributor, ECU and harness, in case I ever wanted to go to OBD1, but while I was trying to sort it all out (see my thread on model year differences), it disappeared… was not sold by the people who had the car, I mean disappeared while someone else was “looking” it over… grrrr
Oh, and almost forgot, transmission label:
…
How much do they want for the greddy header?
How much do they want for the greddy header?
TBH, I may or may not keep it, so you are a bit early on the whole part out thing. Also, I have no clue what shape it is in, will it even fit a '90 etc. I called dibs (and paid enough down to make it stick), so I would have time to take what I needed, and beyond that I will be happy to strip and ship stuff for other people, IF and only IF, I can do it when my time allows while I am getting my own sh*t together.
FYI, the old ss headers are not rare around here. A few weeks ago, the white car I really wanted parts from b/c they were close to mint, they simply cut it at the flange to get the motor out (shrug). THAT is why it decided to do it this way…
…and just trying to help out someone with a bad trans who lives in my old stalking grounds…
Not trying to be difficult w. u, but I just don’t know much about these cars yet… I mean people want a “dead pedal” shipped across five state lines? Who knew?? Maybe I will start my own part-out thread, I think I will just call it PMI’s education and partout, (chuckle)
B/S aside: the top of the header looks ok, the Greddy label is still on it, it is the typical dark bronze color of old SS pipes, it is two-piece, 4-2-1 style, top of the flange looks in good shape, bottom piece have not examined. Seems to be paired with a 1/2-size aftermarket aluminum radiator which looks new-ish, a/c was deleted long time ago, very old CAI. Pipes & collector seem small to me (that may be normal), downstream flange is sized for a new-ish but stock CAT (guessing here, looks identical to mine). Not sure if they came in sizes other than for the stock cat, but this one will def be a choke point, so if you were planning on free-flow all the way & noise be damned, this would not do it.
LOL stalking grounds, to bad your not around here ant more there isn’t a lot of DA guys around here anymore. Sorry for -the late reply, and how much are we talking for the transmission and all? Plus if the price is right I would also be interested in the header and possible the back bumper if it’s the 90-91 back bumper. It might be easier for you to text me if you’d like if not that’s fine to. I very much appreciate the info #502-619-3001
Looks like I’ll be making a trip to Milwaukee for parts
@91_LS_Special: this latest donor car is a '93, sorry. Also, I am going out of town for a week, a family matter came up. To keep things simple, I cashed out and had a friend trailer the car to some private property, so nothing else is disappearing off the car, not like my last experience.
As for the price of the transmission, I was going to take a look at car-part, and just charge less than what is listed there. You can do that yourself, go to car-part.com, find a transmission or whatever else you are thinking of buying, similar mileage, and figure about 1/3 less from a private seller (unless it is something super rare, which this is not). A better question is how we ship it to you if you buy it.
@TegFan: looking forward to it, just give me a wk-to-10 days to get back into town, LOL.
Well if you’re up for it the best way is to freight a transmission.
Well I just found out there is a guy with on for sale. The miles are unknown, he says it works great. He is asking $250 and they are $50 dollars at pull a part assuming I can get one.
