ok i heard u can get a turbo off of a cirtain mustang and it will bolt onto a stock integra and not hurt the engine at all…well if this is true can some1 tell me what yeah and model mustang to get this off of…thanx
also how much boost would be ok to run on a stock 90 rs engine?
you’re probobly talking about the mustang SVO. 2.3L turbo.
for one, you’re saying “bolt up without hurt the engine at all.” well, a turbo isnt what hurts the engine, its the person who does the setup/install and the person who decides how much boost to run. people who think that turbo ruined their engine are morons, because usually they forgot to set the boost low enough. Putting on a turbo from a mustang SVO on your stock manifold will kill that turbo.
People say run no more then 8psi. I personally say no more then 6.
so if i put the turbo on a turbo manifold for my car and run like 6-8 lbs. of boost then i should have no problems?
assuming you know what you’re doing and take the necessary procautions, then you shouldnt have a problem.
The problem you may run into with runnin that turbo is, efficiency. Think about it, that turbo was made for an almost 5.0L motor, I’m imagining the turbine size is huge-a 1.8L Honda engine would probably take forever to spool that thing. I would recommend getting a Turbo more suited for our cars(if there’s such a thing) like a T3 or hybrid. The other thing is not having to worry about exhaust manifold fitment-which will occur when mixmatching parts that wern’t meant to go with each other. Good Luck
integracon the turbo mustang svo was a 2.3L 4cyl turbo, not 5L v8.
Really? What year did those come out? Shows how much I pay attention to FORD, huh;) ?
I’m not sure of the exact years, late 80’s into the mid 90’s I believe. A friend of mine had one that ran 12’s. Pretty slick.
