I just installed my new turbo yesterday and I went to take it for a test run around the block. The car starts to get boost and then it almost feels like i’ve hit the rev limiter at about 4k(limp mode?). I’m running a zdyne ecu with a base map stock map sensor and dsm 450’s. My o2 sensor isn’t currently hooked up could this be causing the problem. Any suggestions would be great thanks.
I belive so… If your O2 is not in then the car throws the code and goes into limp mode… Soo put it in and see…
Well I hooked up the o2 sensor so I don’t have a cel any more and the car still does the same thing I know it needs to be tuned could this be my problem?
Tuning is key…if you are WAY rich you will bog out for sure.
You cant disable the O2 with ZDYNE?
That seems more like what it is doing; boging down I just didn’t know exactly how to explain it.

o2 sensors are only used in closed loop mode, when they are not connected the ecu never goes into closed loop mode. no limp mode. I love when people spread BAD INFO :down:
BUY A WIDEBAND, or pay someone to tune it. thats the only way to run it.
Thanks for the info about the o2 sensor. And you’re right it wasn’t the problem. I’m going to go and get the car tuned next week :sad: as this was the first opening the tuner had open.
Yep, it will not go into limp mode but it will slightly richen up the mixture as a precautionary measure when it doesnt sense an O2 or the sensor goes bad. So you will lose gas mileage and emissions will be a slight bit higher.
i have the same problem on my car i dont have the injectors on right now but when they were in the car as soon as boost built the car ran insanely rich bogged out and stalled, barely got it to start back up i have no clue whats wrong i have the safc -40% across the board and no O2, ??? i dont know why it shouldnt work but it doesnt the only cel i have is for the O2 nothing else.
