I am deciding whether or not to buy Type-R cams for my 1992 GSR. Also, which cams should I get, the Civic Type-R or Integra Type-R? I need to know where the best place to buy them from is and if I could install them myself or should i get a mechanic to do it?
yes, get R cams. very nice mod!
get what you can afford. CTR is higher performance than ITR, but might cost a little more because of this. if you’re really strapped, get just an intake cam of either R.
not sure where to get them new, but i would get them used if you can find a set. cams are made to last 100s of 1,000s of miles, so used should be fine.
a cam install isn’t very hard. i guess it’s harder than adjusting valve lash, but easier than tranny work. it took me half a day or so to do mine.
