Could anyone elaborate on what is included in a vavle job? My main problem is my valve guides, but everything else could probably use some tune up too. I plan on removing the head myself and taking it in. Does anyone have an idea of what the cost would be for this? Also, do I have to buy a new head gasket regardless of the condition of the present one? Thanks
Well what do you all want done. The more you want to “clean up” the more it will cost. A standard valve adjustment…stops knowcking and ticking of engine will run you about 100 bucks at Honda. Acura is around the same price. If you want your retainers and everything else checked and cleaned it will of course cost more. Ask a tech there what they recommend for your desires.

Id recommend getting it done, my car runs smoother than before and my idle is consistant since. You may want to change out your plugs while your at it.
