vortech supechargers.....

ok i was looking at the vortech SC’s today, theyare the completly opposite design from Jackson racing SC’s, itws for a 94+ vtec integra, seems it would fit ours…will it., any info or tips greatly appreciated

how woud a vtec SC differ from a NONvtec one?

i think that you could make it work…
at least i could make it work, but, i couldnt afford the $4500 for it
:frowning:
the brackets should be the same… and all that. you’d just have to make sure you upgraded the fuel system correctly. you’d probably need to modify your fuel maps… i’d suggest hondata stage 4b… but i guess if u can afford the supercharger kit u should be able to afford the hondata stage 4b.

It has nothing to do with the engine, it’s a simple lack of space in our engine bays for a supercharger. The master cylinder has to be moved and the firewall banged out a bit. A member shoehorned a s/c into a g2 and said it simply wasn’t worth it. Just let it go.

dude the vortech is a different design vortechsuperchargers.com

yeah, the vortech supercharger is much easier than the JRSC.

just have to relocate the battery to the back of the car.
maybe change the pipe going to the IM.

yea another member did the supercharger thing, and didn’t get much gains and he wanted, and went through all this custom ****, and at the end said it wasn’t worth it man

the vortec sc doesnt look like it would be that hard to put in but would it realy be worth it? if you spent the same amount of money on a turbo you would have more power and something you could upgrade.

yeah i agree. most superchargers only boost 7psi…
i’m sure u could change pullies and get more, but, then u should also think about sleeving the block, and building the bottom end with rods/pistons, and balancing everything.

you are right, the cost of the vortech sc kit would cost about 3900+, and you could get a stage 2 revhard turbo kit for that, and you could boost alot higher, but, u still need to build the bottom end.

The vortec S/C is made to be put on a stock engine, according to their site, it comes with some fuel system upgrades also. The “high end” kit boosts 'prox 10 psi if im not mistaken.

it sounds like a good idea, but i researched it more, and it seems that the supercharger is driven off the intake cam pulley, hella stressing your timing belt

Me and my friend are planning to do the vortech supercharger setup for a long time. Just that we don’t have time to do it. Since our school winter vacation is pretty darn long won’t start school until Jan. 29th. We will probably look into it and also we already got the stuff to do it with. His dad work in the industrial repairing bunch of large stainless steel machines.

The vortech superchargers are incredible and well worth the $$$$. I’ve had mine for over a year and no problems. I know this doesn’t answer your question, however, thought it might help with a decision. And no, I don’t work for Vortech by any means.

Here’s a few pictures…

Wow, it works well on a car that nobody here drives. Genius I tell you.

Figured someone would have some smartass remark… someone mentioned Vortech and I was trying to help, forgive me to trying to help a fellow hot-rodder out.

Superchargers are great, but they are quite more effective on cars with alot of displacement-like your GT. For our smaller 1.8L engine, turbo’s are more popular cause of their ability to make up for the lack of displacement. G2’s are even more of a turbo friendlier platform than a SC, cause of the room constraints.
Nice setup BTW…

very nice stang
and sweet setup.

come on guys dont flame some guy cuz he doesnt drive a Teg.

like he said, just trying to help a fellow hotrodder…

he may have a bigger engine, but theory is the same, yes our smaller motors do better with turbos but thats besides the point.

i would love to have the $$$ of a vortech SC. yeah it probably wouldnt put out as much as a turbo but for the street it would be some great fun

Thanks and actually I had an Eagle Talon AWD TSI Turbo before the stang so I know a little bit about DSM’s as well. I’m here to learn and help… sorry if I offended anyone.

BTW, I agree 100% that the turbo is really the route to go.

Don’t come with those smart-ass remarks. It was obvious that he was trying to help make a decision based on his experience with the quality of the Vortech SC.

B17A,
Thank you… as stated, I love all cars and I’m not brand loyal by any means. As stated, I owned a Talon before the Stang… and several other muscle cars. As long as they are quick, I don’t care what brand name is on them and I’ll respect them.

The vortech s/c kit gives pretty good power, I seen 240whp from a b18c but it also takes time to spool like turbo as the s/c kicks in after 3k.

My bad, I was definitely out of line there, I apologize.
