i have a stock pr3 computer and the vtec comes on at 4400 rpms
N when it comes on it comes on loud as hell!
I have never heard such a thing in my life soo loud…
i realy dont mind it caz it hauls ass but there is a little lag due to the lsvtec configuration , does any one kno what computer has a 4500 vtec crossover? and what makes a vtec realy loud…
Could be a Mugen chip, do you know the history of your ECU?
your ECu is chipped and not stock plain and simple… vtec should be set higher like 5500 or 5700 rpm which is more stock…i forgot which one it is…oh and who said VTEC was quiet =D
Hrmm… stock non OBD PR3 ECU’s have a 4400rpm vtec x-over, plain and simple.

I could have sworn the x-over for a PR3 was at 5400… .
Nope… 4400rpm.
Even programs for the PR3/PW0 (non OBD) ECU’s such as: Mugen N-1, Feels, Spoon, Top Fuel all have a 4400rpm vtec x-over.
Just get a vtec controller and hit the dyno to tune.
Or even, borrow a vtec controler for a day, hit the dyno, determine the best xover point, and get a chip with the same or closest xover.
Good luck.

Anyone know the engagement point for an XSi? I can definately hear it at about 4750 revs, is this standard?
As said before in the thread… its 4400rpm.
Honda tachs read a few hundred rpm’s (100-300rpm) higher than actual readings, so you may not hear when your tach indicates 4400rpm.
Xsi is no different.

here’s how to know the engagement point: take your muffler off and do a run (just the muffler not everything…you’ll hear when it engages.
word it still hauls ass
audi TT’s are slow as hell!!!
