Weapon R coilovers?????

has anyone ridden on the second generation weapon R coilovers?? the double coil coilovers. I want to get a set, but I don’t know how they ride or reliability. How are they compared to the GC’s and Skunk 2’s? any help or advice would greatly be appreciated.

All I can say is that you get what you pay for. They are cheaper than Ground Controls and Skunk2’s. Weapon R coilover sleeves… . :gay:

I was told that the skunk2’s are the same as Toms and toms are half the price than skunks.

compared side by side the have the same alluminum cast sleeve and all.

Just wanted to know if any weapon r circuit pro users out there???
good?? bad?? s#@t??

I like the 2nd gen circuit- pro design because the spring is always loaded. I also like the two locking collar design better than the single collar with locknut. I have the gc’s on my accord. Gc’s ride good because of the superior spring design(eibach’ s)but they unload and sit sideways in the perch, or rattle after hard cornering.

I want to put the car on the scales but $1500 is way to much for a real set of adjustable coilovers on a “street car”.

i have weapon R first gen, rides rough at times, but cornering is flat

I have the weapon R circuit pros. They ride quite well. First I had some APC’s and they SUCKED A$$. These are like heaven compared to those. I’ve never ridden in anything with ground controls or skunks so I really can’t compare, but I know the weapon r’s ride better than APC’s, Arospeed, and first gen. weapon r’s. And my buddy with a G3 teg has the same coilovers as me and they ride pretty darn good for just springs. Just remember, there is no substitute for shocks.

I ended up with these coilovers cuz my lil brother had em when he had a G2, but he sold it stock, and I just bought the coilovers off him for the price of some Eibachs for his Talon ($200) + he put em in for me.

I just ordered some Koni Yellows, and for my suspension setup (after much internal debate), I decided to stick with these coilovers. The only other coilover I would consider is Ground Control, so that would pretty much put the GC’s #1. These weapon R’s are probably #2 or #3 just under the skunks, but again, I have no experience with either one.

Hope that helps.

WEAPON CRAP !!!

I know a guy who out em on his CL and it only lasted a month a half before the perch cracked

for one a weapon r does not make them for a acura cl i dont know where he got them from. that car is way to heavy for coilovers of course the perch will split. pls dont put down weapon r we make quality stuff.

Hey Bro Im not putting down Weapon r. Its just my opinion. I think everyone has the right to give their opinion. I Bought products from Revolutions Motorsports way before they changed their name to Weapon R. I give opinions from experience my man. Ive been workin on cars for almost 15 years import / domestic. and ive been down that road on whats good whats bad whats crap and whats not. So dont take it seriously kid ! thats why there are message boards. As for the guy who installed the Weapon r coilovers on his Cl, He should know what & what not to install in his car since he work at a Suspenision Shop !

I actually have a set of the circuit pros on my car and the ride is good considering i have a custom kit with 900lbs springs in the rear and 600lbs springs in the front . I made this kit myself since i do work for them and i have tried almost everything that WE make. i am alwayz happy to hear opinions about the product and willing to help anyone that needs help. I also have been in the scene for 12 + years and have seen the big tips to the racing strippes to the city lights ,and the tree spoke anteras, ive seen it all come and go too. alos doing a look up i see we do make them and if the guy you know had a set i am not sure if he has heard the word warrantty. i have seen skunks , gc’s and even progressive full coilovers fail at some point so it might have been just one of those events. also one more thing I AM NOT A KID!

Yeah I know youre not a kid. its just an expression. So I guess you can say we are Vets at this game. Yeah Ive seen all that from the multicolored city lights, Stolen Saab Sidemarkers, PIAA 959’sTo shoehorning in 2tg’s on 74 corollas. Man your bring back the days as far as Meeting at Ling Nam in So. City on Friday Nights !

I use circuit pros on my 91 integra.

They are really easy to adjust, and the cool red perch and spring look good on my red car.

The ride is kinda plush though. Not as stiff as i wish they were. Specially since my car is slammed. I hear the skunk2’s are alot stiffer. But on my friends accord his skunks are bouncy as hell. Like after he hits a bump, the car keeps on bouncin.

I like my weapon R’s. I need to get some new shocks though to make my ride more stiff.

.sounds to me like your friend may have a blown/bottomed out strut if the car keeps rebounding like that…

either that or there’s a mixed up spring rate or something playing games with him…

I saw a Jetta bouncing SO bad once that the 2 guys in the back seat looks pretty concerned that it was going to go end over end. The rear tires were literally bouncing a foot off the ground! I don’t know if it was a jump kit or not but it certainly looked like mismatched springs to me…
